Today MSI released the new AGESA 1.0.0.4 ABBA for Ryzen 3000 series cpu’s for their AMD X570 motherboards. We think it won’t take long before other manufacturers follow this example. Momentarilly i’m writing this blog from our Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master on Bios 1.0.0.3 ABBA and I just checked there is no 1.0.0.4 available yet.
AMD promised they would help board manufacturers find the cause of cpu boost problems due too PBO2 (Precision Boost Overdrive 2) not functioning properly all the time also underlined by @1USMUS a few weeks back. This was fixed to a certain degree with update 1.0.0.3 ABBA but still everything is not optimal yet. Besides fixing PBO2 behavior, MSI mentions they also found a way to speed up boot times with a respectable 30% compared to AGESA 1.0.0.3 ABBA, 16 seconds instead of 23 seconds. Users with 400 series boards will receive their bios updates latest end of november. 400 series MAX boards 2 weeks earlier. Bit by bit one could say AMD and their board partners are finally figuring out the little details.
